On 3 May 2018, IBR will co-host the “Responsible Business and Iran – Challenges and Opportunities” Roundtable for some 30 companies, governments, financial institutions and export credit agencies. The closed-door, invitation-only event has been organised with the International Chamber of Commerce Sweden Chapter (ICC) and the Raoul Wallenberg Institute (RWI).
IBR will present its new research on environmental and social impact assessments (ESIAs) in Iran, detailing significant deficiencies in law and practice in the country regarding these assessments and suggesting steps companies and governments can take to begin to address these challenges. At the roundtable, IBR will present its new briefing, Environmental and Social Impact Assessments and Responsible Business in Iran, highlighting this research.
IBR will also present the results of its first-of-a-kind poll commissioned in Iran to assess Iranian attitudes toward responsible business and its research on the risks of migrant labour exploitation and occupational health and safety challenges in Iran.
